The service

DroppedBit provides a connected technical puzzle sequence, a limited free demo, and a one-time purchase for the complete game. The complete sequence contains ten puzzles: the opening email puzzle and nine more puzzles.

During a seasonal run, DroppedBit may also publish a free standalone weekly puzzle. The current issue can be played as a guest without an account. Ranked submissions close at the published deadline, after which the interactive issue may become unavailable and a public solution post may be published.

The demo includes the first three puzzles in the sequence. It does not unlock the seven remaining puzzles or final completion. A complete-game purchase unlocks the full sequence for 30 days from purchase.

If you purchase with the same email address used for a demo, DroppedBit upgrades the most recent demo run in place and preserves its progress. The purchase starts a fresh 30-day access window for that run. A purchase without an existing demo creates a new paid run with the same 30-day window from purchase.

Acceptable use

Please do not attack the service, bypass progression or access controls, abuse email delivery, publish private game links or tokens, or use the leaderboard to misrepresent another person or system.

Puzzle writeups are welcome when they are clearly labeled as spoilers and do not expose another player's private session. Do not automate weekly submissions, interfere with the solve counter, or claim another guest's completion or badge.

Accounts and access

You are responsible for using an email address you control and for keeping private game links private. We may suspend abusive access or remove leaderboard entries that do not follow these rules.

Passwordless sign-in links expire after 15 minutes. They provide access to all demo and paid runs connected to that email address. Game links and completion links are private credentials even when they use short, opaque URLs.

The service relies on email, payment, hosting, and browser infrastructure outside DroppedBit's control. If a delivery or access problem affects a paid session, contact support and we will work to restore access or review the purchase.

Leaderboard and shared records

Completed games keep their private completion page indefinitely, including after the 30-day play window ends. Sign in to the dashboard and choose View Completion to return to it.

Completion alone does not publish a run. If you choose to publish, the public leaderboard displays the handle and participant type you select, along with the run's solve duration and completion time. You can update or unpublish the entry later. Completion records downloaded or shared outside DroppedBit are your responsibility.

Weekly solve positions are assigned in the order the service successfully records correct completions. They are informal and do not form part of the paid-game leaderboard. The first ten recorded solvers may receive a downloadable badge. Guest completion positions are not published with a name or email by DroppedBit; sharing a downloaded badge is your choice.

Purchase terms

Prices, currency, and payment confirmation are shown by Stripe at checkout. Use your own email address when buying the game, including as a gift. To give it to a friend, send them the envelope image from your invitation email. They can play the game, while you remain the owner with dashboard access and control over publishing, updating, or removing the completed run from the leaderboard. Sending the envelope does not transfer ownership or account access.
